W.A.S.P.
Live At The Wacken Open Air 2025 DVD
Blackie Lawless and Company Set Germany on Fire
Concert Review
In the summer of 2025, W.A.S.P. stormed the main stage at Wacken Open Air and proved why they remain one of the most commanding names in heavy metal. From the explosive opener “On Your Knees” to the fiery closer “I Wanna Be Somebody,” the band had more than 80,000 fans chanting every chorus like a battle hymn. Blackie Lawless, with his unmistakable raspy vocals and iconic stage presence, was as powerful and charismatic as ever.
The setlist was a perfect balance between 80s classics and newer material, giving fans both nostalgia and fresh energy. The live sound was razor-sharp, with cutting guitars and thunderous drums driving the show from start to finish. Visually, the production was spectacular: lights, pyrotechnics, and massive video screens turned the concert into a full-scale metal spectacle.
Highlights
“Wild Child” turned the entire field into a massive singalong.
Blackie’s heartfelt tribute to European fans, met with thunderous applause.
Flawless execution with raw emotion, proving W.A.S.P. has lost none of its fire.
Negative Point
The only drawback was that the show felt too short; with such a huge back catalog, several anthems were inevitably left out.
